Thames Side Brewery is becoming a thriving entertainment location, with a wide variety of groups and bands performing (as well as other community activities such as Poetry and spoken word events).
We try to encourage a mix of local groups, as well as groups from further away (including International groups). Groups and bands styles vary widely as well, and we have acts from a very wide range of genres.
Our main nights for performances are Fridays and Saturdays, when bands typically play from 8:30pm to 11:00pm. In the main, we try and keep these evenings to be Free Entry to customers, and therefore, we do have limited budgets.
We also have Sunday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm available (although the last Sunday of the month is our Open Mic session, and a number of other Sundays are booked for our larger bands on ticketed events).
As a venue, we have a wooden stage area (approx. 5mtrs wide and 3mtrs deep). Around the outside of this, we have 14 RCD protected power sockets. The stage area is washed with some LED lighting.
Bands can use our in house PA system (which has a mixing desk, two monitor speakers and two main speakers), or may bring their own PA.
Loading and unloading is extremely easy! Vehicles can be reversed up to our rear doors, where it is flat level access to the stage (around 10mtrs). However, the yellow hatched areas must be kept clear at all times.
We have a sound level indicator that is clearly visible to the band. Whilst this is not linked to an auto cut off, you will be given a level to stay under (which is good loud enough level). This is for the benefit of our customers, our staff and our neighbours. We are hoping to upgrade our in-house PA system during 2025, and also update the stage lighting as well, to further improve the performance experience.
We are currently receiving around 120-150 enquiries per month from groups and bands, looking for a gig. Unfortunately, we can only accommodate around 10 per month.
To enquire about playing at Thames Side Brewery, please send an E-mail to events@thamessidebrewery.co.uk
In your E-mail, please make sure that you include
a. What type of music you play
b. Is it original music or covers?
c. How many performers are in your group
d. A link to a website / You Tube / Facebook etc., where we can listen / watch your group. Please DO NOT send any music files or video, just links.
e. The cost of playing 2 sets of around 60minutes.
f. An indication of availability over the next 2-12 months.
Unfortunately, we can no longer reply to every enquiry that we receive, as the bookings are managed by volunteers and we are simply receiving too many requests. If we think you are a good fit for a slot, we will be in touch.
Please do not ring us at the venue, as the Bar Staff will only refer you to sending an E-mail to events@thamessidebrewery.co.uk
Please also do not assume that a gap in the online events calendar means that we need an act. There are a wide range of reasons why a date may appear to be “available”, which can include anything from the booked band being embargoed, to not being ready to release details, to not having updated it yet, or that it is a private event that night.
Once booked, please be prepared to supply a short description to use on our Events / Lemonrock pages, along with a photo. An A4 Portrait poster would also be useful in electronic format, as we will put these up around the venue a few weeks before.
Please note : Under our licensing regulations, under 18’s need to leave the premises by 9pm. If you have under 18’s in your band, please make sure you let us know. We have done special days where we group a number of bands together, and play through from mid-afternoon, organising for the younger bands to be finished before 9pm.
Having said all of this, we look forward to hearing from you. We get music, we are here for music (as well as great beer), and are looking for a wide range of bands, both local and further afield.
