Thames Side Cider and Sausage Festival

Sausage Barbecue – Saturday 16th September
On Saturday 16th September, we will be having a Sausage Barbecue during the afternoon (1pm-8pm).
We are planning on featuring sausages from Ansell’s of Englefield Green, and fresh baked rolls from the Jolly Baker in Sunbury.

 

Wide Range of Ciders Available all week
Over the Thames Side Cider and Sausage Festival, we will have a wide range of Cider’s available all week. Below are some of the tasting notes for the ciders that we will have present.

NEWTON COURT CIDER ‘First Press’ Herefordshire cider 5.5% Medium
A clean, crisp and smooth cider. Inspired by ciders made in the USA, this cider uses old fashioned eating apple varieties such as Cox and Russet to create a lighter, fruitier style of cider.

OLIVER’S ‘Classic’ Herefordshire perry 6% Medium
A medium sweet, still, fruity blend of the best perry pears from the 2022 harvest. Perry as it is meant to be.

PILTON ‘Labyrinth’ keeved Somerset cider 5.9 % Medium
Made by the artisan method of keeving. Fresh bittersweet cider apples are partially fermented to produce a naturally medium cider without sweetening or pasteurisation.

WINKLEIGH ‘Autumn Scrumpy’ Devon cider 7.4% Medium Sweet
This Scrumpy is bright in colour. It is well balanced on the palate and releases a wonderful appley aroma. Made from specially selected apples sourced from local growers.

SEACIDER West Sussex Blood Orange cider 4% Medium Sweet
Made with real blood oranges and blended with SeaCider, this cider is refreshing and packed with flavour.

ASCENSION ‘Tranquility of Solitude’ East Sussex Red Plum cider 4% Medium
This plum blend sees wild cider, fresh apple and red plum juices marrying to bring you a jammy, rich, decadent experience. Smooth red plum mingles with a hint of acid from the apple juice.

MERRY MOON ‘Tropical Moon’ Kentish cider 6% Medium
This cider company specialises in exciting fruity flavours. A tropical fruity paradise in Staines Upon Thames.

BIDDENDEN Kentish cider 8% Dry
This strong Kentish cider is still and smooth with a refreshing apple taste. Created using the traditional Barnes family recipe, all Biddenden’s ciders are produced from a blend of farm-pressed, quality Kentish culinary and dessert apples.

PERRY’S CIDER Vintage Somerset 7.2 Vol.
Our Vintage is a modern take on barrel aged ciders, fermented to 7.2% using champagne yeasts. Before final conditioning in white wine barrels for up to 6 months. The resulting cider is a soft well balanced medium dry cider with hints of vanilla and deep apple flavours from the oak aging.

PERRY’S CIDER Barn Owl 5.5% Vol.
Our Barn Owl is styled on traditional Somerset farmhouse ciders. We follow four important rules: natural ferments using only ‘wild yeasts’, small batch techniques, 100% juice and of course using only traditional bittersweet and bitter sharp apple varieties. The resulting cider produces a refreshing medium cider with bite, left unfiltered for a more authentic taste.

PERRY’S CIDER Grey Heron 5.5% Vol.
Pressed from a blend of the very best Redstreak and Dabinett apples grown at our Knowle St Giles Orchard, located just five minutes away from our farm (by tractor of course). Young, light well-balanced sweet cider.
